4. Blues Brothers 2000
Ah, the first of the nostalgia sequels. Made purely because Dan Aykroyd was a powerful star at the time (those were the days!) and because apparently someone thought it was a good enough idea. The odd thing about the film is its largely the same cast and crew, including the same director, writer and producers, so why was it so bad? The main problem here is you can't call it The Blues Brothers, because John Belushi isn't there, as he died in 1982. And, let's be honest, he was the best thing about the original film. John Goodman tries his level best to fill his place, but even Walter Sobchak can't do the impossible. It also makes the cardinal sin of adding a kid to the cast. The music's as good as ever though, and we finally get to see Paul Shaffer on screen with The Blues Brothers (he couldn't perform in the original film as he was contracted to SNL), but it's not worth watching unless you're a big fan of blues music or the actors involved.
