10 Movie Sequels That Turn Wimps Into Total Badasses
1. Neville Longbottom - Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2
After watching Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, absolutely nobody could have predicted that Neville Longbottom would end up being one of the primary saviours of the wizarding community.
He was forgetful (and is even gifted a Remembrall, a device that reminds the user they've forgotten something), clumsy and painfully dozy, and these three traits remain constant throughout the majority of the Harry Potter saga.
And then, come the grand finale... everything changed. Neville was confident - 'taunt a group of Voldemort's followers who were mere feet away from him' confident - heroic, and fiercely determined to protect his friends, his school, and his freedom.
He's the only person - besides Harry - who stands up to Voldemort as the dark dictator descends on the Hogwarts courtyard, and shortly after, he destroys Voldemort's final Horcrux by chopping his snake in two, obliterating the creature into a showering of black dust.
These were actions that the Neville we met in earlier films did not seem capable of doing - it was a complete transformation.
Ultimately, Neville may not have been the Chosen One or The Boy Who Lived, but without him, the wizarding world would have fallen under Voldemort's control, making his valiance essential to the happy ending of the Harry Potter series.
