10 Movie Sequels You Didn't Know Were Coming In 2023

Like the various demons haunting the Lambert family, the Insidious franchise is relentless. Despite the last two instalments failing to vibe with critics, the fact that these movies are made for pocket change yet can easily gross over $100 million means that Blumhouse will keep cranking them out for as long as they can.

The fifth chapter was recently set for a July 2023 opening, and, unlike chapters three and four, this particular sequel will continue the Lamberts' story, serving as a direct sequel to 2013's Insidious: Chapter 2.

What's more, actor Patrick Wilson - who plays Lambert patriarch Josh in the franchise - is also on directing duties this time around. It's a bit risky to let him make his feature directorial debut on such a high-profile project, but given his extensive horror experience in both Insidious and The Conjuring, it's also not a terrible idea.

The movie will focus on young Dalton Lambert as he heads off to college, and, presumably, takes his demons with him. No word yet on a production start date, but with only a year to go until its release, filming should commence imminently.
