7. The Losers Club vs. A Giant Spider - It
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lpb0Kh3e2GE The two-part TV film adaptation of Stephen King's classic horror novel It scared the absolutely bajesus out of me as a kid, at least for 90 percent of its run-time Tim Curry was superbly terrifying as Pennywise, the murderous clown who terrorised a group of children, and returned to do away with them for good as adults. At the climax of the film, the remaining members of the group - referred to as "The Losers Club" - venture to Pennywise's cave lair to face off against him once and for all. What they find...well... Pennywise has become a gigantic spider. Thanks to laughably special effects, any terror that Tim Curry had mustered promptly goes out of the window, combined with the fact that Beverly (Annette O'Toole) manages to mortally wound it with...a slingshot...before the rest of the group move in to finish it off. How you go from mind-meltingly terrifying to uproariously hilarious in just a few minutes is beyond me, but the guys behind this adaptation managed to do it.
