6. People Will Come, Ray - Field Of Dreams
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDyM4CfExXU Iowa farmer Ray Kinsella (Kevin Costner) is faced with a failing farm and a family to take care of. However, Kinsella has one thing that makes his farm invaluable: a magic baseball field on which the ghosts of the legends of yesteryear come to play the game eternally. After convincing author Terence Mann (James Earl Jones) to come and see the field, Mann recognizes what the dream field represents: the unconquerable draw of nostalgia. Mann launches into a speech about how the field's magic speaks to the soul of all Americans through the common language of baseball, noting, "America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time." Most of all, Mann says that this field will bring people to Kinsella's farm with his oft-repeated statement "People will come, Ray." After all, who wouldn't pay $20 to experience a reunion with their dreams?
