10 Movie Spinoffs Much Better Than The Franchise That Spawned Them

1. Logan

Logan Wolverine
Fox

Logan isn't just the best X-Men movie, the best Wolverine movie or even the best R-rated comic book movie, it stands tall as one of the finest entries that the entire genre has ever seen.

Hugh Jackman's portrayal of the adamantium-infused mutant had long since ascended to iconic status, but the actor was still crying out for a definitive solo outing after the misfiring X-Men Origins and the so-so The Wolverine. Director James Mangold stepped up to the plate big time, loosely adapting the iconic Old Man Logan arc and wrapping a superhero blockbuster in Western and noir elements.

Not a lot of iconic movie characters get the sendoff they deserve, but Logan most certainly did, and when the character inevitably gets rebooted and absorbed into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, any actor brave enough to step into Jackman's shoes faces a monumental task in trying to live up to Wolverine's big screen legacy.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
