8. Newt May Return For Alien 5
Though Neill Blomkamp's Alien 5 has been put on ice until Ridley Scott's Alien: Covenant hits screens, that hasn't stopped him from continuing pre-production work on the project.
Blomkamp took to Instagram this past week to post the above concept art of a fully-grown Newt, making an undeniable case that her controversial death in Alien 3 will be retconned and we'll get to see the character as an adult. Considering that both Ripley and Hicks will be returning, it makes too much sense that Newt would round out the trio.
In terms of casting, it's incredibly unlikely that Carrie Henn, who hasn't made a film since 1986's Aliens, will return, and Fox may prefer to seek an active actress with a more conventional movie star look. Many fans have already been demanding that Jennifer Lawrence get cast in the part, but as ever, we'll have to wait and see...
