7. That Instagram Story - James Franco

Mainstream movie audiences are likely to be most familiar with James Franco for his appearances in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies where he played Peter Parker's friend-cum-enemy Harry Osborn. Beyond the mainstream, however, Franco's life can be more than a little strange. From playing himself on General Hospital and describing it in a self-penned Wall Street Journal article as "performance art", to dressing up as Marilyn Monroe while hosting the Oscars, Franco is no stranger to strangeness. More recently he's drawn attention for his weird Instagram activities, not least the naked selfie, and even Seth Rogen says that he's "a really weird guy". Anyone who refers to themselves in the third person and creates "invisible art" is bound to be a little bit odd, and James Franco certainly fits the bill.
