8. Kathleen Kennedy & Daisy Ridley Basically Admitted That Rey Is Han & Leia's Daughter (Sort Of)
Everyone already thinks that Daisy Ridley's enigmatic character, Rey, is the daughter of Han Solo and Leia Solo, because a) that's awesome b) all the signs look as though they're pointing at such a revelation and c) it makes sense. So far, though, Disney have remained tight-lipped on the subject. But did producer Kathleen Kennedy and Daisy Ridley accidently confirm the connection in a recent interview? Maybe. Said interview took place in Japan, with Kennedy talking up the idea of The Force Awakens as an exploration of "family," explaining that much of the film deals with it. Kennedy was also vague when talking about Ridley's character, but hinted that the family aspect was a major part of her character. Ridley also appeared to be caught a little off-guard when a journalist came right out and asked her whether her character was Han Solo Jr.. Here's a transcript of what was said:
Journalist: There is a rumour that Rey is the daughter of Han Solo. Ridley: Oh, really? I never heard that . Journalist: Really? Ridley: No, I did . There are so many rumours. I am so excited for people to see the film.
Sounds a bit like stalling on Ridley's part, doesn't it?
