Despite the fact that there have been several reports circulating with regards to the potential casting of Joaquin Phoenix as Doctor Strange, it was revealed last week that the actor has dropped out of talks. Which means that no, this awesome casting won't happen, which is a damn shame, as Phoenix would have made a great choice for the character. As it stands, Marvel are still on the look out for their man. Who, we wonder, will end up nabbing it? We probably shouldn't have got quite as excited about Phoenix playing the role in the first place, to be honest. He's not the kind of actor who was likely to sign on for a load of films in a massive franchise, given his tendency to drop off the face off the Earth for long periods of time, or work on smaller, more independently-minded projects.
