5. Colonol Quaritch's Pandora Wildlife Warning Comes Back To Haunt Him - Avatar

The Dark Knight Two-Face Harvey Dent

Announcing himself on the simply mesmerising world of Pandora with one of the most epic introductory speeches ever committed to the big screen, Stephen Lang's Colonol Miles Quaritch wasted little time letting the troops in attendance and folks watching at home know that "Out there, beyond that fence, every living thing that crawls, flies or squats in the mud wants to kill you and eat your eyes for jujubes."

And while the fearsome military leader of the RDA very much gives off an air of unwavering determination for much of the runtime, it's clear from this opening statement alone that he respects and somewhat fears what is waiting for him in the jungles of Pandora.

This all plays into James Cameron's sci-fi monster's conclusion as we see Eywa unleash all of her natural fury on Quaritch and his forces late in the day, with everything from flying beasties to ten-ton hammerhead titanotheres trying to kill the RDA invaders. And Quaritch himself succumbs to a number of arrows from the native Na'vi, Neytiri, before all is said and done.

But you simply cannot keep a good colonel down it seems, with Quaritch being set for a return in this year's The Way of Water.
