10 Movie Villains Who Will Kick Ass In 2018

9. The Trio Of Giant Monsters (Rampage)

Rampage Ape
Warner Bros.

Rampage is about Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson squaring off against a giant ape, a giant wolf, and a giant crocodile, and the entire point of this movie is that the three monstrous creatures are to destroy buildings, vehicles, and pretty much anything else they can punch or kick.

This is also the central premise of the video game the movie is modelled on, and based on the first trailer, this is as faithful as adaptations come. Sure, a little bit of plot has been added to flesh out the basic "monsters destroying stuff" concept, but the explosions and crumbling buildings are both here in spades.

Created in a freak accident, the trio of super-sized creatures make their way to the nearest city and begin knocking over buildings, snapping lampposts, wrecking pavements, breaking bridges, and generally causing mayhem and untold amounts of destruction.

In short, they are literally only here to kick some ass, and this will ensure that Rampage - at the very least - is a fun, easy-going popcorn movie.

These villains won't all be deep, complex characters or nuanced anti-heroes, but their sheer size and eye-catching designs will make them a screen presence that will prove hard to forget.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for over ten years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too. If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order, or to give you a random factoid about the making of Gridlock, Danny is the person to ask!
