10 Movie Weddings That Were More Like The Real Deal
4. Wedding Crashers
Wedding Crashers is perhaps a lighter entry on this list; it doesn't tie unrequited love or emotional anxiety to marriage quite as strongly as some of the other entries. Instead, Wedding Crashers showcases the rowdy and somewhat sleazy aspects of a marriage celebration. This comes through most strongly in the "Wedding Season" montage, where stars Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn crash seemingly dozens of weddings and get lost in a sea of cake, booze, dancing and bare breasts. Now, anyone who has gone to a few weddings knows that this type of wild, crass behavior isn't quite as universal as Wedding Crashers makes it out to be. And yet, at the same time, it isn't a rare occurrence either. This is probably Wedding Crashers' most realistic contribution to the wedding movie pantheon. It showcases the kinetic heights to which a wedding can elevate someone. But the film isn't solely obsessed with shots and naked women. It also includes an effective love story between Wilson's John and Rachel McAdam's Claire, proving that with weddings you never know what to expect. Your experience can range from getting blitzed on the dance floor, to finding the love of your life.

A devoted fan of all film genres and styles, Adam gets equally giddy over the sensitive, existential musings of Ingmar Bergman, and the brawny brilliance of Arnold Schwartzenegger. He loves fish tacos and misses the work of Heath Ledger and Jack Lemmon on a daily basis.
