10 Movies That Were Condemned On Religious Grounds

8. Frozen

Disney's latest box office smash, Frozen, is perhaps the last film you'd expect to be condemned on religious grounds. It tells the tale of Anna (voiced by Kristen Bell) princess of Arendelle, who sets out to find her estranged sister Elsa after her magical ability to conjure up ice and snow inadvertently encase the kingdom in an eternal winter. A handsome mountain man and his faithful reindeer join her on her quest, along with a talking snowman who yearns to bask in the sun. It isn't Disney's greatest animated yarn, but the lush visuals and strong musical numbers certainly pleased audiences across the globe. At least, most audiences - one Christian pastor by the name of Kevin Swanson of the Reformation Church thought otherwise. Hosting a Christian radio show in Colorado, he described Frozen as "very evil", going on to state that it encourages homosexuality and bestiality. Swanson - a man who believes that Christians will one day be burned at the stake by homosexuals - insists that he is not a "tinfoil hat conspiratorialist" while at the same time insisting that Disney studios are "one of the most pro-homosexual organisations in the country." It isn't the first time Disney has come under fire from religious figures with somewhat extreme interpretations of their movies, although perhaps the most outlandish claim is that the number 666 appears in the swirls of their logo, proving that you can find just about anything to support wild theories, if only you look close enough.
