10 Movies Great Actors Should Be Ashamed Of

8. Matthew McConaughey - How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days

how-to-lose-a-guy-in-10-day Before his recent resurgence, McConaughey became something of a laughing stock within the film community. He became known for leaning against objects or people on the posters of awful romantic-comedies such as How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days. After a promising start to his career with Contact, A Time to Kill and The Newton Boys, McConaughey's career imploded in the mid naughties by appearing in a succession of unwatchable rom-coms. The worst of which was How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days, which co-starred Kate Hudson. The film is tortured, dull and features McConaughey at his absolute worst. McConaughey since he has turned his career around with Academy Award worthy performances in Magic Mike and Killer Joe has acknowledged the fact that he wasted a large portion of his career taking the fat cheques to appear in awful movies. McConaughey perhaps had an awakening and suddenly became embarrassed by all of the shoddy films he was appearing in and decided to focus on personal projects from now on. How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days is a dreadful piece of cinema, which McConaughey eventually realised and overcame.
