What You Remember It For: Quicksilver

If there’s one X-Men movie that doesn’t get the credit it deserves, it’s Days Of Future Past. The second movie featuring the prequel cast is the best of their trilogy, but it feels like its brilliance has been swallowed up and overshadowed by the more prominent likes of the MCU, and followup X-Men: Apocalypse’s poor reception.

Consequently, there’s only one scene that’s truly left a lasting impression, thanks to a combination of its brilliance and the way it was able to permeate mainstream media around the time the movie came out: Quicksilver’s kitchen dash.

While breaking Magneto out of plastic-prison, the team arrives at a kitchen reminiscent of that bit from Jurassic Park. Cornered by goons, Quicksilver sprints into action and we’re transported to a mesmerising slo-mo experience replicating his point of view.

It’s a fantastic scene, but the movie’s complex time-travel plot, interaction between old and new cast members, and amazing use of its ‘70s setting and politics are what makes it truly great. Without one of these components, the whole thing would fall apart, but without Quicksilver, there’d just be one less awesome scene.
