Why People Hate It: Spider-Man dancing. Spider-Man suggestively gesturing at women on the street. Spider-Man and his emo haircut and eyeliner. Spider-Man and his hair flip. All of these things. Why People Should Hate It: All of the regrettable character development of Peter Parker, plus more. Sure, they turned one of the most charming and likable superheroes into a complete fool, but there are bigger issues in this film. It's incredibly crowded with villains, who barely get their moment in the sun before the plot quickly moves along. You've got Eddie Brock/Venom (inexplicably played by Topher Grace, who probably wouldn't be someone's first choice for a super villain), Sandman, and then there's also elements of Harry Osgood as the new incarnation of the Green Goblin. Any one of those villains could have supported a film, but having all three is just too much. And why did both Mary Jane Watson and Gwen Stacy need to be in this movie? Just to make more uncomfortable dramatic tension that puts our hero in an increasingly negative light?
