10 Movies Sylvester Stallone Should Have Taken A Bullet To The Head Rather Than Starring In

7. Cobra

It's a fascinating fact that most action heroes tend to be right-wing and Republican, and no deeper is that reflected than in Stallone's uber-fascist actioner Cobra. The film was originally written by Stallone as Beverly Hills Cop, before deciding that he wanted to make a more violent and less comedic picture, and so the project morphed into this mulch, while Beverly Hills Cop continues endure as one of the best comic-actioners of all time. Cobra ended up with six Razzie nominations, while critics continue to decry the film's lack of characterisation; Stallone's titular protagonist is essentially a ruthless killing machine and little else. Never does the film aim to humanise him, or give us any insights into his life or what makes him tick. The casting of Brigitte Nielsen is also blatant, shameless nepotism given that she was married to Stallone at the time of production.
