10 Movies That Accidentally Filmed Things You Weren't Supposed To See

5. A Horse Kicks An Extra Right In His Private Parts (The Last Samurai)

Essentially, the job of a movie extra is to stand around all day, doing nothing. There might be a bit of running every now and then, but overall, it seems like tedious work.

However, one particular extra involved in the making of 2003's The Last Samurai had a much more eventful day than the rest of his colleagues - and not in a good way.

In the final third of the movie (at the 01:53:50 mark, to be more precise), stars Tom Cruise and Ken Watanabe ride their horses into the middle of a group of soldiers. As Cruise dismounts his steed, pay attention to the troops on the right-hand side of the frame, and you should be able to notice that the horse full-on kicks one in the balls.

"Ouch" is definitely a gross understatement here.

Amazingly, the extra manages to stay on his feet, carrying on with the rest of the scene. Let's be honest though... his grandkids probably felt that one.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
