10 Movies That Are Just Giant Adverts

1. POM Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold (POM Wonderful)

Morgan Spurlock Morgan Spurlock's documentary The Greatest Movie Ever Sold is the one movie on this list that completely gets away with being a massive advert, because that's exactly the point. Spurlock attempts to make a point about the creatively restrictive nature of product placement by having his movie be sponsored by the pomegranate soft drink POM Wonderful (among other companies), to the extent that their name even appears before the movie title on all promotional materials. POM agreed to pay $1 million for the titling if a series of conditions were met, that the film grossed $10 million at the box office (a lofty ambition for any documentary), sold a half-million downloads and DVDs, and generated 600 million media impressions. Needless to say, it sounds like in the end POM got some pretty cheap product placement, even if Spurlock's film has nobler intentions than any other on this list.
