8. Scream
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTWf9QGdJCQ Yes, I know, most of my articles are littered with Scream related content, but this one is legit. Everyone loves slasher flicks, but most dont really seem to care about how it all started and are perfectly fine with the obligatory spilling of the villains guts in a vain attempt to rid themselves of guilt before killing (or actually not killing) the final girl. Its the long soliloquies that ruin their chances of achieving the ultimate revenge. The Prequel: We get to see Mrs. Prescotts affair with Mr. Loomis right in front of Billys eyes. He and partner in crime, Stu, start planning out the vengeful murder of Mrs. Prescott, tailing her, peeping into the familys windows, etc. I would like to see Billys initial wooing of young Sidney, perhaps all a part of the plan, in order to shift suspicion onto ill-fated Cotton Weary. It would be a great portrayal of the inner workings of a psychopaths mind, how revenge fuels tragedy, and how grief can drive a person into the very arms of a killer. Doesnt sound bad, does it? The only downfall to this prequel is that, without the original cast, it wouldnt be as good as it could be. Considering the original casts current successes, though, I dont think itll be too hard to wrangle them all up again.
