10 Movies That Deserved To Become Cult Classics (But Didn't)

8. Crank

Seven Psychopaths
Lionsgate

There's silly action fun for not exactly all the family, and then there's Crank.

Boasting a Jason Statham in fine hitman form as Chev Chelios, the Brit is poisoned by the mafia early on and forced to keep his adrenaline pumping in order to avoid biting the dust. As expected, the results are increasingly chaotic and outrageous, leading to everything from hospital robe bike stunts, to very much public shows of affection as the madness unfolds.

And while Crank would actually go on to earn a sequel by the name of High Voltage three years on from the 2006 entry's decent box office performance, there's no denying that the picture containing Stath genuinely fighting in a helicopter 3,000 feet in the air hasn't quite established itself as a cult hit on the level of other action offerings like The Raid or Dredd.

But for the epic final falling from said flying vehicle sequence alone, this one likely deserves a little more love as a hugely satisfying slice of nutty action insanity that can always be counted on for many an audible "WTF!" moment.
