One of the most famous reinventions of filmmaking is easily from The Matrix. The groundbreaking sci-fi movie pioneered bullet time, a term which would later be trademarked by Warner Bros!
With the film being based on a simulated reality, it demanded exciting special effects and bullet time was certainly one of those examples. The special effect enabled the scene to progress in slow-motion, while the camera appeared to move at actual speed. This helped provide the sense of a virtual reality through the use of bullet time.
