10 Movies That Need A TV Spin-Off

1. L.A. Confidential

Here's one so obvious that we're amazed it hasn't already been picked up by HBO or AMC, given their penchant for impeccable, superbly-acted drama with extremely high production values, though a failed pilot was filmed in 2003. The stunning film noir adaptation of James Ellroy's novel leaves us wanting more, and if HBO could cobble together some of the writers from The Wire, Boardwalk Empire, The Sopranos and Deadwood, they could make a show just as outstanding, complex and morally ambiguous as the original film. Whether re-casting the film's principal characters or not, what's clear is that the show would need an absolutely killer cast to be able to compete with the original film, and HBO, with their penchant for ensemble-driven shows, have just what it takes to make a show of this magnitude. LA Confidential: The Show would be able to have fun with film noir conventions while also opening another window into the world we so gleefully entered into back in 1997.
