10 Movies That Pissed Off Audiences Right Away

4. Indiana Jones & The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull

The fourth Indiana Jones movie wasted not a second getting already-skeptical fans riled up, by grinding their gears in the film's very first shot.

Kingdom of the Crystal Skull opens with the iconic Paramount mountains logo transforming into a CGI mound of dirt from which an equally digital prairie dog emerges.

After sniffing around for a moment, it quickly runs out of frame as a gang of teens carelessly joyride their car over the mound.

With its utter pointlessness, this moment served as a perfect encapsulation of Indy 4's primary issue - its CGI-slathered excess.

Between the painfully bad green screen work throughout the film and, yes, the re-appearance of digital prairie dogs later on, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull had little of the tactile craft or charm that made the prior three movies so damn entertaining.

That's obviously not to ignore the film's flat script, underwhelming performances and that scene involving a nuke and a fridge, but it nevertheless had fans groaning from its very first moment and rarely let up.
