10 Movies That Prove Action Stars Shouldn't Do Comedy

9. Jason Statham - The Pink Panther (2006)

006TPP_Jason_Statham_004 Jason Statham appears briefly yet unceremoniously in The Pink Panther, the 2006 reboot of the Inspector Clouseau series starring Steve Martin. Playing a French football coach, Statham exudes a confident swagger as he comes on the field before the big game in the film's opening sequence. Playing a coach almost as popular as his players, Statham accredits his success to the Pink Panther diamond ring he wears on his finger, kissing it for luck. He even has the most beautiful girlfriend in the world (Beyonce) at his side. When his team is victorious Statham celebrates on the field only to be assassinated shortly thereafter by a poison dart. Jason Statham, who usually gives one-note performances is many of his most popular action films (Transporter, Crank, The Mechanic) is equally dull here. He doesn't say much in his scenes, which could have been a clever way for producers to steer away from his terrible French accent, or lousy comedic timing. Statham, probably ashamed of his performance or the lackluster reception of this film in general, appears uncredited in this sad excuse for comedy.
