10 Movies That Prove Pod People Run Hollywood
9. Taken 2
Speaking of soulless clones, here's a more-of-the-same sequel that's basically the first movie with a slight reversal – this time, it's Liam Neeson who’s been abducted, and he has to rely on his daughter’s help. In other words, the only person who can save the day is Maggie Grace. Uh oh.
The director is Olivier Megaton (Transporter 3, Columbiana) who’s no stranger to by-the-numbers action films, and if it feels a little more forced this time around, well, that’s how it goes in sequels. The script is by Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen, who also scripted the original, but it still feels like just another hacked-out sequel.
Check this out: both Bryan Mills and Jack Bauer worked for government organizations, have blonde daughters named Kim and found their wives murdered. If you were going to accuse the people behind the franchise of making the pod people version of 24, you'd have a pretty good case.
