The stand-out moment in an undeniably iconic career; Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is Jim Carrey's finest film to date and if that's not enough to hook you in then the premise should do the job. After the devastating end of a serious relationship Carrey's Joel undergoes an experimental procedure to erase his ex and all memories with her from his mind after finding out she has done the same.

Written by the uniquely genius mind of Charlie Kaufman, Eternal Sunshine is a stunning film filled with so much heart and wit and beauty that it is one not to be forgotten easily. It is a genuine example of a high concept film being executed perfectly and yet still remains so human and easily connectable. Joel and Clementines relationship feels real, like we've all been there, and this process feels like something we've all thought about in some way or another. The whole film just works on such a level that it becomes impossible not to love it.

Unique brilliance is a rare commodity in film these days and Eternal Sunshine is a film that has it in abundance. It is this outlandish genius that make this a film that well and truly stays with you long after the credits have rolled.
