Christopher Nolan's psychological thriller, 'Memento', has established itself in many eyes as one of the best films of the 21st Century. Since its release in 2000, it has received many accolades and has propelled Nolan's career to much higher places; most notably to his 'Dark Knight Trilogy' fame.

The Start The first scene of the film is completely in reverse, beginning with the protagonist, Leonard, holding a Polaroid photograph of a dead body. The Polaroid returns to its undeveloped state and is placed back into his pocket. A bullet is then sucked from the floor back into the barrel of his gun and a glimpse of his victim is shown; Teddy, a prominent character in the series of flashbacks that lead up to this moment.

The End Teddy explains that he is a cop who worked on the case that resulted in Leonard's loss of memory. Whether this explanation is to be believed is questionable and the more that Teddy 'helps' Leonard in his investigation, the more Leonard discovers that inevitably puts Teddy directly in the firing line.
