2. Quentin Tarantino Wrote The Hateful Eight As A Django Sequel
Quentin Tarantino clearly enjoyed his time making Django Unchained and soon after he was done with it, felt like he had more stories to tell with the character. He would soon start scripting a sequel, titled Django In White Hell but during the writing process would come to realise that the Django character actually didn't quite fit the story he wanted to tell.
At a live reading of The Hateful Eight script at the Alamo Drafthouse, the director explained why;
"There should be no moral centre. I thought it should be a room of bad guys, and you can't trust a word anybody says".
So once he'd taken Django out of the equation and replaced him with Major Warren (played by Samuel L. Jackson) the suspense filled western quickly began to take shape as we know it.
But still, we can't help but wonder how Django would've reacted in that scenario. Aside from shooting people, of course.
