10 Movies That Tricked You Into Thinking They Were Over

10. Hot Fuzz (2007)

Hot FuzzThe "False" Ending... Having uncovered that a secret cult in secretly manipulating a sleepy country town, police officers Nicolas Angel and Danny Butterman do battle Bad Boys II style to put an end to their regime. After a car chase that has the pair pursuing the nasty Simon Skinner, leader of the Neighbourhood Watch Alliance, to the outskirts of town, the duo manage to defeat him and save the day. Back at the station house, everybody laughs at a job well done. But Wait... Just when the movie seems to have been wrapped out, one surviving member of the Neighbourhood Watch Alliance enters the station house, shoots Danny with an ancient blunderbuss and triggers an old sea mine, which blows up the entire station. Though everybody survives and the day is still saved, this is not a moment that anybody really saw coming - the movie seemed like it was well and truly done when Skinner was defeated. And I'll admit, it does feel a little bit too much like overkill.
