With a mere $3 million budget and a small cast shooting the entire movie in Greece, Richard Linklater had a decidedly easier time keeping production of the third entry into the Before franchise under wraps.

Though fans speculated that Linklater might reunite with Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy for a third film around 2012 - marking another 9-year gap between movies - Hawke and Delpy did a great job throwing fans off-track.

While Hawke talked-up the prospect of the film in late 2011 and the summer of 2012, Delpy quickly denied that filming was taking place, causing most fans to forget about it for a while.

Only near the end of the film's 15-day shoot were the cast and crew spotted shooting in the country, and a short while later Linklater, Hawke, and Delpy confirmed in a joint statement that the film had been completed.

It goes without saying that the intimate production, free of swarming paparazzi and set spies, only helped accentuate its wonderfully laid-back style and mood.
