1. Magnolia
Magnolia is a movie that is sprawling and so adventurous with character development that there is never one moment in its 3 hour runtime where something isn't happening. The film can be heartbreaking, hilarious, dramatic or light hearted at any given time since it deals with multiple narratives that run in and out of each other and connect at the movie's famous climax of raining frogs. No matter how surreal things get in Magnolia it always retains a sense of humanity that brilliantly reflects the struggles of day to life through many different perspectives. This gives the story a grand feeling since it does focus on many different things but it also gives it an intimate feeling to since each character feels very personal to the viewer, especially after 3 hours and 8 minutes. The greatest thing Magnolia is it suggests that no matter how bad things get there is still something to live for and happiness to be found in life. Thanks so much for reading and I'd love to hear any films that have made you happy over the years.
