10 Movies That Would Make Great Animated TV Shows

2. Serenity

Serenity Alan Tudyk I€™m sort of cheating a bit here but I don€™t hear you complaining. Serenity was obviously based on the amazing-but-cancelled Firefly by living nerd god Joss Whedon and has since become a cult hit. Whedon created an incredible sprawling universe with tonnes of backstory and interesting characters - perfect for an animated show. While you could quite easily follow another crew of Browncoats on their journeys through the €˜verse, why would you want to? If we€™re not getting another live action series then I€™ll be damned if Serenity: The Animated Series doesn€™t star Cap€™n Tightpants and the rest of the gang. Get Whedon, Tim Minear and Jane Espenson on board as script monkeys and you€™ve got a recipe for an unmissable show that kids and adults will love. The main caveat is that it must be set before the death of a major character (you guys know who I mean and I can already hear you weeping) because he€™s irreplaceable.
