5. Richard Dreyfuss - Piranha 3D
To this day, some people are still convinced that Richard Dreyfuss' character in Piranha 3D was an older version of his Matt Hooper role from Steven Spielberg's Jaws.
While this old seadog singing the same Spanish Ladies song that's so synonymous with Jaws certainly adds credence to this theory, Dreyfuss actually played someone dubbed Matt Boyd - a character who admittedly is a tribute to Hooper, but who is not actually Hooper.
Either way, it was a whole bunch of fun to see Richard Dreyfuss doing his thing in Piranha 3D, even if that thing was particularly short-run. In this loose remake of 1978's Piranha, Matt Boyd was used to establish the stakes that were on the table - with him the first person killed off after a school of hungry piranhas emerged from a whirlpool.
With Boyd's blood swirling in the water, it's only then that Piranha 3D's credits start up.
In a fun sidenote, Richard Dreyfuss only actually took on the Matt Boyd role after being offered a hefty payday - with him in turn donating said payday to charity.
