Thomas Vinterberg's terrific, Oscar-winning drama Another Round centers around four Danish high-school teachers who partake in an experiment to start drinking on a daily basis to see how it affects their personal and professional lives. Predictably, things soon enough get messy.

The film ends with one of the four men, Tommy (Thomas Bo Larsen), drowning at sea, and in the final scene, the three remaining men decide to join a large group of students on the harbour as they drunkenly celebrate their graduation.

The glorious sequence culminates in a tipsy Martin (Mads Mikkelsen) performing a lively balletic dance to Scarlet Pleasure's peppy pop tune "What a Life," with Mikkelsen - who himself has a background in ballet - getting the opportunity to showcase his fantastically acrobatic skills.

It's an ending that surrenders the light and dark of the story: Martin and his pals are lamenting their lost friend, but also celebrating his life, while appreciating both the misery and ecstasy that booze can bring with it.
