As we enter the top 5 entries of this list of movies which predicted future technology we come to the first of the films adapted from the literary works of one of the greatest science fiction writers of all time, Philip K. Dick. Dick wrote hundreds of short stories and dozens of novels, and all of them were rich with possible predictions for a future earth. Total Recall, directed by Paul Verhoeven and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as a man who gets caught up in a villainous plot to deprive the people of Mars their air, is one of the best Philip Dick movie adaptations (it's certainly far more entertaining than the recent remake). An early action chase sequence features technology which will be rolling out commercially in the real world very soon: driverless cars. Total Recall also managed to predict full body scanners at transportation terminals - although the real life body scanners found in airports around the world don't look anywhere near as cool as the skeleton-revealing scanner Arnie smashes his way through to avoid a hail of bullets. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVgA-eqtj8U
