Quentin Tarantino's movies may be dense with homages, references, nods and in-jokes, but how aware were you that they were crammed with instances of neat foreshadowing, too? Given that the movie is based around a gang of criminals and the "rat" amongst them, then, there are a number of clues hidden throughout Reservoir Dogs that hint towards the identity of the snitch.

So you can glimpse an orange balloon in one sequence, whilst in another there are a collection of soap bottles in different colours arranged in a way that nudges audiences in the right direction. But the most subtle indication as to who the rat might be comes in the very first scene in the movie, wherein Mr. Orange (Tim Roth) reveals himself to be rat-like in nature when he grasses up Mr. Pink (Steve Buscemi) for not tipping.

When asked by boss Joe Cabot who failed to throw in a tip, it's Mr. Orange who immediately calls him out. "Mr, Pink," he says. "He don't tip." It's a fleeting moment, but it's also one that hints at Mr. Orange's true identity as a cop.
