8. Lisa's Mother Definitely Has Breast Cancer - The Room

Tommy Wiseau's "disasterpiece" The Room is a deeply baffling yet ludicrously entertaining film for many reasons, yet there's one single narrative thread which is abandoned as suddenly as it's introduced.

When Lisa (Juliette Danielle) is talking to her mother Claudette (Carolyn Minnott) about planning a birthday party for her fiancee Johnny (Wiseau), Claudette makes a grim segue with the immortal line, "I got the results of the test back. I definitely have breast cancer."

Audiences are then led to assume that Claudette's cancer diagnosis will form some sort of a subplot throughout the film, yet it's bizarrely never mentioned again.

This isn't the only plot point in the film that's raised and then immediately discarded, but it's certainly the most memorable, infamous, and frankly mildly disturbing in its casualness.
