10 Movies With Unexpectedly Brilliant Soundtracks

8. Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle

Batman Forever Tommy Lee Jones Jim Carrey
Columbia Pictures

If there's a record for the movie with the most instances where the protagonists should definitely, by all scientific laws, have died, it goes to Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle. There are so many glaringly stupid moments in this film that the collective suspension of disbelief of a whole theatre full of people couldn't cover it.

But the soundtrack makes up for it. At least a little.

The dominant genre here is rock, but the soundtrack is still very diverse, covering a number of styles and eras. There's '60s surf rock (The Beach Boys' "Surfer Girl"), '70s glam punk (Bowie's "Rebel Rebel"), Bon Jovi's '80s classic "Livin' on a Prayer", all the way up to 21st Century hits like Electrix Six's "Danger! High Voltage".

And while the hard rock provides the muscle on the soundtrack, the style comes courtesy of songs like Edwyn Collins' swaggering "A Girl Like You" and what has to be the sexiest cover of a cartoon theme song in history: the Hollywood Studio Orchestra's rendition of "The Pink Panther Theme".

Overall, this soundtrack might not have anything you haven't heard before, but it has very few songs you won't be glad to hear again.
