7. Ultraviolet

When an American weapons lab discovered a virus known as “HGV”, they tried to modify it to create super soldiers but it got loose and and started a pandemic so now the sufferers are being rounded up by The Archministry, a shadowy organisation headed by the sinister Daxos (Nick Chinlund).

After developing super strength and vampire-like canines, the infected have a 12 year lifespan, but Violet (Milla Jovovich) has discovered a cure: it’s in the blood of Daxos’ son, who sleeps in a miniaturised hibernation tank that’s no bigger than a laptop. No wait, that was all a ruse because the antigens in his blood could wipe out all the infected… or he’s useless and radioactive… or he’s been given an “antagonistic protein” by his father that makes him a threat to the remaining human population. Something like that.

Anyway, Violet confronts Daxos in his lair, where he reveals that he’s also infected and was the one who started the pandemic because… oh, who cares? Watch this on a double-bill with the concurrent Aeon Flux and your head will explode.
