10 Movies You Didn't Know Are Becoming TV Shows

1. The Truman Show

Shutter Island HBO
Paramount Pictures

The Truman Show is a movie that a lot of people like, mostly because it's great, but also because its premise is so inherently delicious that audiences just can't help but be intrigued - after all, the plot concerns a man who discovers that his entire life is the subject of a TV show, and you can't really get anymore intriguing than that.

Jim Carrey made the movie famous, of course, but now a fully-fledged TV show is in development. Paramount's television division is currently trying to get the boat moving with regards to this project, but actual details regarding its status are thin.

Rumour has it that the show will focus on the people who work behind the scenes of the show in as much detail as they do the titular character, which makes a lot of sense. In fact, it sounds positively brilliant. You can even imagine the first season climax, as Truman begins to suspect what might be happening to him...

Is It A Good Idea? The ultimate meta-show? Go for it! Just make sure to find somebody who can pull off both hilarious and emotional as well as Jim Carrey did in the original film (no easy task, come to think of it).
