10 Movies You Only Like Because Everybody Else Does

9. The World's End (2013)

Nobody wants to say that they were disappointed by an Edgar Wright film, so of course the reviews - and the fan reaction - to The World's End, the final movie in the "Cornetto trilogy," were mostly positive. And when one person says something like this is good, well...

"Yes, another great flick!" cried everybody who laid eyes on The World's End, surely fighting away the sense of lingering disappointment stirring from deep within. You know, the one telling them that it actually paled in comparison to Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.

Thing is, The World's End is a comedy that - on more than one occasion (try, like, twenty-seven occasions) falls entirely flat. Lots of jokes don't work. The tone of the movie isn't entirely consistent, and the characters - those played by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost included - are rather unlikeable. The whole pub crawl/Invasion of the Body Snatchers thing might've looked good on paper, but it doesn't really translate to the big screen.

It's okay to admit this was something of a failure, people. You don't have to like everything Edgar Wright does. You don't have to love The World's End just because you want to.
