6. Jennifer Lopez
Much like her former partner and co-star Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez had a few years in the wilderness as far as her acting career went. The mid-00s were not kind to J-Lo, who starred in all time dud Gigli, by the numbers comedy Monster-In-Law, and featured in the truly dull Jersey Girl.
Prior to that, she was a hot prospect. The highlight of her career was Out Of Sight, in which she sizzled alongside George Clooney, and there were many more decent projects. Anaconda is a fun, daft romp, and hers is one of the more measured performances in the underrated if schlocky U-Turn.
More recently she has revived her acting career with some smaller pictures that demonstrate her range. Best of the lot was Hustlers, a true story starring Lopez as a stripper turned con artist. It was a welcome reminder of her enviable screen presence, and showed a side of Lopez the performer that hadn’t been seen in many years: she actually looks like she’s having fun.
Like Affleck, she has risen from the flames. Best not to put those two in another film together, though.
