Who's Chris Pine? Beyond playing Captain James T. Kirk in the modern Star Trek films, Pine has been steadily appearing in movies like The Princess Diaries 2, Smokin' Aces, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, Horrible Bosses 2, Into the Woods, and this year's acclaimed Hell or High Water alongside Ben Foster and Jeff Bridges.

Why You Should Be Excited: Considering the fact that Wonder Woman is important for being a female-driven superhero film - of which the genre has been in woefully short supply - the script is finally going to be flipped for once, with Steve Trevor, long a friend, ally, and love interest of the titular Amazonian, taking on the type of supporting role that has so often landed on the shoulders of female characters. Pine can definitely bring the charm, which is good, and Trevor will be the "in" for both the audience (visiting the island of Themyscira for our first time) and for Diana (visiting the rest of Earth for the first time) in the overall narrative, but hopefully the chemistry is there between him and Gal Gadot to make their friendship/relationship worth rooting for both in this film and any future stories to come.
