10 Obscure Movies You Haven't Seen (But Should)

1. The Reflecting Skin (1990)

Reflectingskin This is one that comes up on a lot of €œFilms You€™ve Never Seen€ list and that€™s simply because no matter how times it does, people still haven€™t seen it. Which is surprising considering that it was an early role for a now famous Viggo Mortensen who got a taste for strange roles with this one before his celebrated work with David Cronenberg. It€™s not a pleasant movie by any means. A ten year old boy living in rural America begins to suspect that the eccentric woman who lives nearby is a vampire hell bent on seducing and killing his older brother who has returned from the war. Couple that with a subplot about pedophilia and the increasing disappearances of his peers and you have the recipe for a movie about a young kid dealing with some very adult issues. All in all, The Reflecting Skin is not a very easy film to watch but one that rewards you with the fact that you haven€™t seen anything like it. The dirt and grime of the story is juxtaposed with some of the most beautiful and remarkable cinematography that can easily rival the works of any Coen Brothers or Terence Malick film. Every aspect of this film demands to be remembered.

Just like Patrick Swayze in Roadhouse, Mickey Galie is the best friend a good time ever had.
