10 Off-Screen Moments That Change How You See Movies Forever

5. Endless Love/Pretty Woman - Offscreen Footwork

Quentin Tarantino is a filmmaker famed for paying particular attention to feet throughout each and every of his movies, yet QT isn't the only director to have homed in on feet for the benefit of a film.

For Franco Zeffirelli and Garry Marshall, they got up to some offscreen foot shenanigans during their respective times helming Endless Love and Pretty Woman - all in the name of getting what they deemed to be the perfect shot for what was required at certain points in those movies.

On Endless Love, Zeffirelli was stood out of shoot, squeezing star Brooke Shields' big toe. The reason for this, was that the director was looking to find a pain reaction from Shields that made it look like she was having an orgasm... because nothing says "pleasure" quite like having your big toe squished and wiggled out of socket.

As for Garry Marshall, on Pretty Woman there was a moment where he similarly was out of shot and manipulating his female lead's feet. Rather than anything painful, though, Marshall was instead tickling Julia Roberts feet in order to get her to laugh in a way that looked and sounded natural. That was for the scene where Roberts' is seen watching an old episode of I Love Lucy.
