7. Elphias Doge

Newt Scamander Harry Potter
Warner Bros.

Age: 137+

Member of the Order Of The Phoenix and a key player in the first and second wizarding wars, Elphias Doge was a good friend of Albus Dumbledore, and even started Hogwarts on the same day as him.

Known for wearing silly and eccentric hats, Doge actually wrote Dumbledore's obituary for The Daily Prophet, something that prompted Harry to go and talk to him during Bill and Fleur's wedding. This wedding is the last we see or hear of him, so it's entirely possible that he could still be alive today.

If he started Hogwarts on the same day as Dumbledore, that places his birthday around the same year as his old friend's - 1881 - making him at least 137 today.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
