10 Overlooked Positives Of Batman Forever

7. The Riddler's Zoot Suits

Warner Bros. Pictures

Talking of which. While Jim Carrey delivered exactly the performance you'd expect from nineties era Jim Carrey, his wardrobe in Batman Forever is almost entirely spot on. Gorshin's three-piece suit and Lycra onesie are resurrected for Nygma's turn from zero to antihero, making this Riddler look almost exactly as though he'd just stepped from the pages of a comic book. Not sure where the red hair came from (nor how Nygma manages to wash it out so well for his public non-Riddling appearances) but it works well enough. Riddler's suit even gets its own cameo in Batman And Robin, appearing in a storage room next to Two-Face and Mr. Freeze's own outfits.

Forget the denouement though, in which he trades in the green and black for a white and sparkly all-in-one (plus stupid question mark mask) which undoes any goodwill we might have had forthe character up until that point. It's hardly anyone's finest moment though, with the Dark Knight looking equally ridiculous in what might be one of his worst costumes of all time. Until the George Clooney monstrosity, that is.
