8. Melanie Griffith & Thora Birch As Teeny - Now and Then
Apart from this movie being great, Now and Then is also known for telling its story in the past and in the present. A great coming of age film, I don't know any girl who didn't watch Teeny stuff her bra with pudding and take notes. The beauty of Melanie Griffith is hard to match, but when thirteen year old Thora Birch came on screen, I couldn't think of anyone who was more perfect to take on the role. My big thing is the lips. Look at their lips! They are identical! Another thing that I thought was really great about these two is that Griffith, who plays an aspiring actress, is clearly a victim of hair dye and cosmetic surgery (in the film, that is). Birch, who had her natural brassy blond hair at the time, offered audiences a glimpse at what most actresses start off as - your average pre-teen.
